The weather satellite image shows cloud over West Australia, the Top End, Queensland and northern New South Wales along a broad tough generating showers and storms. High cloud over the south of the country is also bringing instability.
Taking a look at today's weather around the states. A fine for much of Queensland apart from isolated showers and storms at the east coast, southern interior and gulf country.
New South Wales will see isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast with a chance of showers about the central and southern coasts. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere.
Victoria will be mostly fine except for some isolated showers near the coast and the eastern ranges. Tasmania will see light showers clearing, leading to a mostly sunny day. Isolated showers extending across South Australia from the west, isolated thunderstorms will reach central districts late tonight.
Western Australia will see isolated showers and thunderstorms in the north, tending scattered over the Kimberley in the afternoon. There'll also be isolated showers and thunderstorms in the south.
And the Northern Territory will be mostly sunny in the eastern Alice Spring district, isolated showers and storms elsewhere.
And checking Sunday's weather around the capitals. A shower or two for Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. Showers clearing for Adelaide, some rain for Hobart, partly cloudy for Perth. Fine for Brisbane and a possible storm for Darwin. |
