BEIJING, March 8 (Xinhuanet) -- The legendary singer Whitney Houston left everything in her possession to her 19-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina, not a penny to ex-husband Bobby Brown, according to media reports Thursday. According to a 19-page will first obtained by Inside Edition, Houston left all of her furnishings, clothing, personal effects, jewelry and cars to her "surviving children", but she didn't mention specific assets. Bobbi Kristina is her only child.
The money will be placed in a trust that is specially set up for the girl who will receive the inheritance over time: get part of the money upon turning 21, a little more at age 25, and the rest at age 30. Houston named her mother, Cissy Houston as the executor of the will.
The late pop icon signed her will on Feb. 3, 1993, and later amended it in 2000 when she was still married to Bobby Brown. Their marriage came to an end in 2007.
On Feb. 11, Whitney Houston was found dead in the bathtub of her Beverly Hills hotel room in Los Angeles, at the age of 48.
There is no official cause of death yet, but it is being reported that the police are reaching the end of their investigation and are close to ruling the death as an accident. |
