China, Singapore to strengthen cooperation in various fields(在线收听) |
NANJING, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan on Friday said China is ready to work with Singapore to strengthen cooperation in the financial, technology and science fields. Wang made the remarks as he co-chaired the ninth Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) meeting, an annual high-level platform, with visiting Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean in Suzhou, eastern China's Jiangsu province.
The two countries have achieved remarkable cooperation results over the past year, Wang said, stressing that China is willing to develop bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective.
China is accelerating its economic development mode shift and adjusting its economic structure to maintain stable and rapid development, he said, noting that China's economic operations were generally smooth and the country will further progress under stable conditions.
The vice premier said the government is paying more attention to steady growth. Ensuring economic growth and increasing employment opportunities is the urgent priority given the complicated global economy, he said.
China is ready to work with Singapore to further enhance mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, he said, such as trade, investment, finance, culture, science, technology, education and social management.
Teo said that China's prosperity and stability is conducive to Singapore's interests and interests of the region.
He called on the two countries to strengthen exchanges and expand cooperation to seek an eco-friendly development path in line with economic growth and social harmony.
The two sides also held talks on the development of the Suzhou Industrial Park and Tianjin Eco-City, two significant bilateral cooperative projects which were kicked off 18 years ago and 4 years ago, respectively. |
