突尼斯柔道队希望在伦敦奥运会获得金牌(在线收听) | ||||
The African nation of Tunisia will certainly never be mistaken for an Olympic powerhouse but the country's judo team, may just turn some heads this summer in London. Boasting some of Africa's top Judoka, Tunisia qualified four players for the Games tied for tops among all nations. The three females and one male will however, have to overcome history in their campaign for an Olympic medal. Tunisia joined the Olympic Judo competition at the 1964 Tokyo Games, the first time Judo was included by the Olympics. However, no Tunisian athlete has ever won a medal in the event. There are 14 judo medals available at London 2012, involving seven weight categories for both men and women. Hana Merghani, Tunisian Olympic Judoka, said, "I grabbed the qualification for the Olympics and I hope to grab a medal in London. I will have to embrace the responsibility of representing my country and honor the colors of Tunisia."
