BERLIN, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Robin Dutt has joined German Football Association (DFB) as sporting director on a four-year contract, the DFB announced at an official press conference on Wednesday. The 47-year-old Dutt is the successor of Matthias Sammer who had left the DFB in July to join FC Bayern Munich as sporting coach. Dutt will be in charge of talent and coaching courses development at the DFB.
"To take on this exciting challenge here with the DFB has a very special significance, it feels great to be responsible in this function. I look forward to working together with Joachim Loew as well as the other DFB coaches", Dutt said. From 2007 until 2011 Dutt coached Freiburg following a one-year engagement at Bayer Leverkusen.
"I'm quite pleased that we were able to sign to sign an expert and well established Bundesliga coach for this important position. I m sure Robin Dutt will build on the success of Matthias Sammer", DFB President Wolfgang Niersbach said. |
