No casualties in Wal-Mart fire(在线收听) |
DALIAN, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- A fire that ripped through a Wal-Mart outlet in Dalian was put out Wednesday morning, local authorities said. No casualties were reported in the fire that broke out at 9 a.m. on the fifth floor of the outlet in the port city in northeast China's Liaoning Province. The fire was extinguished at around 11 a.m., a spokesman with the city's emergency response office said.
Witnesses told Xinhua that the warehouse of the outlet caught fire, giving off heavy smoke.
There were no customers as the outlet was not open when the fire broke out. Six people working inside were rescued.
The cause of the fire is being investigated. |
