2. Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills was severely injured in an explosion while serving in Afghanistan. Today he is one of five quadruple amputees in the US military to have survived such an injury. He is now undergoing physical therapy at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center where his recovery could last a year.

 

 

 

3. The search is back on to find clues in the mysterious disappearance of famed aviator Amelia Earhart and her plane. On Tuesday, searchers and salvagers embarked on a $2.2 million expedition to find wreckage from Earhart's plane that went missing over the Pacific Ocean 75 years ago.

 

 

 

4. And Barclays Chief Executive Bob Diamond has resigned with immediate effect. The British banking giant was fined $453 million last week by US and British regulators over false reports on interbank borrowing. Chairman Marcus Agius will serve as CEO until a replacement is found.
