When You Feel Like You Have Lost Control of Your Life Raising a family, maintaining a great career, making life more wholesome are life's challenges that are sometimes taken for granted. There are people who treat life as it flows in its daily natural course, a "come what may" attitude. That type of complacency may have been rooted during early stages in life or may have been caused by several severe frustrations experienced in the past. There is a particular point in life when we stop chasing rainbows and just stop accepting more challenges. This is unhealthy as the human mind need challenge needs stimulation. So what are the causes of people having dreams and losing focus? Should we look for who or what to blame. If we do, we may not find the way back on track.
It is easy to say that we should always assess our problems, look for the cause and find solutions. The thing is that it is easier to say these words than to implement it firmly. The main problem is oftentimes where to start. Too many ideas are out there on how to handle problems in life. Had one of this been too helpful to you? Most of the time, the ideas may be great but not presented in an easily comprehensible manner. One thing left out when those ideas where written is that people who are experiencing a particular problem and had lost track of their lives are in a disturbed situation that they might not give it time to contemplate on what they are reading or hearing.
Finding the starting line is about recognizing that a problem exists. Without such recognition, we will go nowhere. If you think that everything is fine, why would you look for solutions? Living life to the fullest requires periodic assessment of where one is heading to. If you feel that life is too easy, there might be something wrong. Think about this adage: "If the going gets easy, you are going downhill". This catches a real point to think about. Stop and take the time to see what is going on around you. Simple decisions today may present great changes of direction for the future.
Several reasons may account for complacency in life: one is being tired of struggling; someone does not see the point of improving his present condition; or that he is fully content with what he has now. While contentment is a good factor in life, it should not be taken as an excuse to yearn for improvement. Improving must be a continuous process otherwise you will end up going backwards. If you are tired battling with life, rest for a while. It helps to regain mental strength. Nevertheless, do not make the interval of time too long. Remember that life is short; there is no time to sit down and wait for graces to fall down from the sky.
When you feel like you have lost control in life, no one else can make you get back on track, you have to do it with your own will. Seeing the need is the key. Looking for a fuel to start moving on is the next step. Make decisions and plan accordingly. |
