Hong kong rider dominates sixth stage of 2011 Tour of Hainan ONGFANG, South China, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Cheung King Lok of Hong Kong, China Thursday triumphed in the sixth stage of 2012 Tour of Hainan. He clocked a winning time of three hours 59 minutes and 21 seconds while second place went to Dmitriy Gruzdev from Astana Pro Team, and Yeung Ying Hon from Hong Kong, China finished third, also with 3:59:21.
Alexender Serebryakov from Team Type 1-Sanofi retained the yellow jersey for the first six stages for leading the general individual classifications, who also kept the green jersey for leading the sprints classfication.
Wang Meiyin from Hengxiang Cycling Team still kept the polka dot jersey so far when the race came to the mountain phase.
Champion of this stage, Cheung King Lok proved that he was the best Asian rider so far instead of Mohammad-Saufi-Mat-Senan from Terngganu Cycling Team.
Cheung King Lok told the press he was pleased with the result today, he would do his best in the next two stages to get the yellow jersey.
One hundred and fifteen riders participated in the sixth stage starting from Danzhou in Northern Hainan to Dongfang which located in Western Hainan.
With the distances of 215.7km, the seventh stage from Dongfang to Wuzhishan located in the heart of Hainan will be shown on Friday. |
