2. A fire broke out at a Bay area refinery Monday, forcing scores of people to area hospitals complaining of breathing problems. The blaze of the Chevron Richmond refinery plant, ten miles northeast of San Francisco, was contained late Monday.

 

 

 

3. Lawyers for Jared Lee Loughner, suspected gunman in the 2011 Tucson mass shooting, are trying to convince a judge that he's competent enough to enter a plea. Loughner's behavior in court during his hearing Tuesday will be watched closely. He allegedly opened fire at an Arizona supermarket, killing six people and wounding former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords along with 13 others.

 

 

 

4. And team USA is only three wins away from Olympic gold in men's basketball. Monday they advanced to the quarterfinals, beating Argentina 126-97. Wednesday night they'll face Australia.
