PSV end year as Dutch winter champions（在线收听）

THE HAGUE, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- PSV Eindhoven ended the year 2012 as Dutch Eredivisie "winter" champions for the 19th time in history, with FC Twente finishing the year on goal difference as the second placed team.

PSV had no difficulties with NAC Breda on Saturday, beating the home team 6-1.

Jeremain Lens opened the scoring with two goals, after which Jordy Buijs equalized.

The consolation goal of NAC was not the precursor of more. Georginio Wijnaldum, Mathias Zanka Jorgensen, Luciano Narsingh and Jurgen Locadia completed the six of PSV.

"The most important thing is that we have won, not the winter title," PSV coach Dick Advocaat said. "I rather have the real title in summer."

On Friday, FC Twente booked a 3-0 win at AZ Alkmaar, but their performance was not convincing. AZ was the dominating team in most of the match, but the home team was not able to find the net.

Nacer Chadli scored just after half-time, Luc Castaignos added the second and Chadli made it three with a beautiful lob.

Ajax had the chance to move within one point of the leaders, but wasted that opportunity at FC Utrecht.

Coach Frank de Boer side played well and had several chances, but drew 0-0.

Utrecht finished the match with ten men after Dave Bulthuis was sent off in the 90th minute with his second yellow card.

"I think we created around seven hundred percent chances," De Boer reacted. "My players just made the wrong choices."

Feyenoord booked a narrow 2-1 win on Sunday against FC Groningen. Striker Graziano Pelle broke the deadlock for Feyenoord in the 58th minute, but defender Virgil van Dijk managed to equalize. Three minutes from time Pelle added another goal and became match winner.

Feyenoord moved up one place to the fourth, because Vitesse Arnhem suffered a 2-1 loss against sc Heerenveen on Saturday. Filip Djuricic and Alfred Finnbogason scored for the home-team and Guram Kashia's goal was not enough for Vitesse.

PSV now enter the new year with 40 points from 18 matches, leading Twente on goal difference. Ajax and Feyenoord trail by three points and Vitesse by five.

PSV became "winter" Eredivisie champions for the 19th time. They also ended up as champions in 13 of the 18 previous occasions. The Dutch league will resume after the winter break on January 18.
