 A low pressure trough is triggering the odd storm over southern Queensland, warm to hot and dry northeasterly winds have prompted a severe fire danger warning in northeast New South Wales. Another trough is triggering thunderstorms over western Australia, the northern territory and South Australia. 

 
Looking around the states.
 
Queensland can expect isolated showers and storms in the south with very hot northerly winds in the west.
 
New South Wales will experience isolated showers and storms in the north, and cooler southerly winds in the south.
 
Victoria will be dry and mostly sunny with hot temperatures expected in the north, and light south to southwest winds.
 
In Tasmania, scattered showers in the west increasing and extending to central and southern parts during the day.
 
South Australia will be hot with isolated showers and storms in the north, showers developing in the south.
 
Western Australia can expect mostly sunny and hot conditions in the north and east, southeasterly winds strengthening in the south.
 
And in the northern territory, isolated showers and storms in the north, hot northeasterly winds in the south.
 
And looking ahead to tomorrow. Partly cloudy with the chance of showers in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and Hobart. Sunny in Perth and Adelaide and a possible after shower in Darwin.
