LONDON, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- The sky of London cleared up on Sunday, when the sunshine brought a message of early spring, as well as the catwalk show of famous British brand Mulberry. Mulberry explores the earthy landscape of the English countryside at night for Autumn Winter 2013, with the 40 looks of the collection featuring a combination of traditional English style with whimsical flair.
To create the atmosphere, the Claridges Hotel Ballroom was decorated with blossoms and butterflies. The twinkling light turned the show room into a night garden.
Oxblood, midnight blue and black deepened taupe and camel on the pieces. Classic check pattern was brought to life by sequin and floral prints. Full bell sleeves added drama to silhouettes, juxtaposed with skater skirts and chopped trousers.
Creative director Emma Hill said that the designs were intended to go "back to the roots" while moving towards "next-level luxe."
Mulberry was established in rural Somerset, England in 1971.
The London Fashion Week is an apparel trade show held in London twice each year. It is among the "Big Four" together with the New York, Milan and Paris fashion weeks.
It runs from last Friday to this coming Tuesday, with 56 catwalk shows and 20 presentations. Over 5,000 visitors from 43 countries are expected. |
