 A weak trough over Queensland and northern NSW is triggering a few thunderstorms. A trough over WA is also generating storms. A large high is keeping southern parts of the country clear.

 
Looking around the states.
 
There'll be areas of storms and showers over inland Queensland. Temperatures will be hot in the west and north.
 
In NSW, there'll be isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast late today. It will be fine elsewhere.
 
In Victoria, isolated showers are forecast in the south and on the coast. The north of the state will be warm and sunny.
 
Southern and western parts of Tasmania will be cool and wet today, conditions are mild elsewhere.
 
It'll be fine across most of SA except on the lower southeast coast, that region could get possible light showers.
 
The southwest of WA can expect thunderstorms from this afternoon.
 
There'll be widespread thunderstorms across the Pilbara and Kimberley regions of WA.
 
The NT can also expect stormy weather over the Top End and the Gulf Country.
 
Looking ahead to tomorrow. And a possible shower in Bribane and Sydney. Partly cloudy in Canberra, Hobart and Melbourne. Sunny in Adelaide. Partly cloudy and very hot in Perth. And storms in Darwin.
