The US has been tightening security at American missions around the world following the attack on the US consulate in Libya that killed the ambassador and three other Americans. A second US warship is headed to the Libyan coast. The destroyer USS Laboon moved into position yesterday.
3. The House is set to act today to keep the government running after lawmakers leave for the fall campaign. It's expected to pass a temporary, six-month spending bill needed to avert a government shutdown when the current budget year expires at the end of the month.
