英闻天下——124 IAEA Seeks Deal over Iran's Nuclear Program(在线收听

The UN Nuclear watchdog is trying to finalize a deal with Iran over its disputed atomic activities.

During talks in Tehran on Wednesday, the International Atomic Energy Agency said it hopes Iran would open access to Parchin military site.

Herman Nackaerts is the IAEA Deputy Director General.

"We are aiming to finalize the structured approach to resolving the outstanding issues on possible military dimensions of Iran's nuclear program. We hope that we will be allowed to go to Parchin, and if access is granted we will welcome the chance to do so, and as you well see, we are ready to go."

He also called on Iran to be constructive in talks to resolve all outstanding issues with the IAEA.

Parchin is suspected by Western powers of conducting bomb related experiments.

IAEA director general Yukiya Amano last week expressed his concern over the prospect of the structured approach, saying he was "not necessarily optimistic."

Meanwhile, Iran insisted on its "rights" to civilian use of nuclear technology, while announcing that it is ready to register nuclear weapon ban decree as an "international document."
