英闻天下——154 China Improving Copyright Registration System(在线收听

China's National Copyright Administration says China has built a fairly complete copyright registration system.

Yu Cike, director of Copyrights Management at China's National Copyright Administration.

"Our copyright administration system mainly includes the registration of works, computer software and pledge. Copyright contract registration and filing are also included. We have also standardized the registration procedure. At the same time, a database for the registration has been set up."

Last year, over 80-thousand copyrights were registered.

Among it, the registration of works increased nearly a half.

Registration of computer software added nearly one third.

Yu adds the administration will enhance copyright's public service capacity this year.

"We will further improve the registration system in terms of statistics, submission and publishing. We will enlarge the registration quantity and coverage, requiring a higher quality at the same time."

According to Berne Convention and China Copyright Law, Copyright comes into being the day the work is completed.

Up to now, over 100 countries and regions have set up a copyright registration system to protect intangible property.
