英闻天下——180 China Debuts Self-developed High-end Server(在线收听) |
The first high-end server independently developed by a Chinese company has made its debut in Beijing. The Tiansuo K1 System, a fault-tolerant server developed by the Shangdong-based Inspur Group, was put on the market after four years of research and development.
Inspur said the R&D of Tiansuo cost 750 million yuan or about 120 million U.S. dollars.
The server's debut marks a beginning for China to end a long-time dependency on imports for high-end servers, officials from the Ministry of Science and Technology said.
High-end servers have much higher processing capacity than regular ones and are core equipment for financial, telecommunication, energy and other important industries. |
