英闻天下——181 China's Auto Exports Top 1-Million Mark(在线收听

China's vehicle exports topped the one-million mark for the first time in 2012.

Figures from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers show that the country delivered just over one million units abroad in 2012, an almost 30 percent rise on 2011.

Though the year-on-year growth slowed to 30 percent from 50 percent in 2011, the rate is still much higher than the 4.3 percent increase for the domestic market.

The figures mean that China's vehicle exports have increased on average 46 percent year-on-year since 2001, when there were just 19,000 units exported.

The vast majority of China's car exports are sent to emerging markets in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

Chery and Geely top the exporters with both delivering over 100.000 units, trailed by Great Wall Motors, SAIC Motors.
