Palmeiras president condemns fan attack on goalkeeper(在线收听

RIO DE JANEIRO, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Palmeiras goalkeeper Fernando Prass needed medical treatment after being struck by a glass object thrown by a fan at Buenos Aires' city airport on Thursday.

The incident followed the Brazilian club's 1-0 Copa Libertadores defeat to Argentine side Tigre on Wednesday night.
Prass suffered a cut ear during the attack which involved up to 30 fans and left Palmeiras' Chile international midfielder Jorge Valdivia seeking refuge in the airport restrooms.
"What happened is unacceptable and Palmeiras will not tolerate this type of behaviour," Palmeiras president Paulo Nobre said.
"From today we have ended all of our privileges to organized fan groups. Until they take action to stop this from happening there won't be any dialogue. We are 100% behind our players."
Prass and Palmeiras football manager Omar Feitosa did not board the Sao Paulo-bound flight and remained in Buenos Aires on Thursday to report the incident to local police.
Palmeiras, historically one of Brazil's most successful clubs, were last year relegated to the country's second tier but qualified for the Copa Libertadores by virtue of winning the Copa do Brasil.
They are currently third in their group with just three points from three matches.
