英闻天下——509 U.S Not to Take Military Actions Easily: Analyst(在线收听) |
A leading Chinese military observer is suggesting the United States is going to be very cautious when it comes to any potential military intervention on the Korean Peninsula. Professor Lv Yousheng is an expert on military strategy with China's National University of Defense Technology.
"I don't think the U.S will resort to military actions easily. The interests of various nations are tied to the Korean Peninsula. The instability in the region will not only have an impact on Southeast Asia, but the entire continent. No Asian countries wish to see that. Plus, the South does not want to see military action. If a war does break out, no matter who wins, South Korea will be the one to suffer. And also, given the past experiences in Afghanistan and Iraq, the U.S doesn't want to be dragged into another war either."
There are currently about 28-thousand US service personnel stationed in South Korea. |
