3. Officials in the Caribbean say the death toll from Hurricane Sandy has risen to 65, with 51 of those deaths in Haiti. Heavy rains are adding to the initial blast of the hurricane. Bridges have collapsed and banana crops are ruined.
4. Poo may not be waste after all. A Swedish company is hoping to revolutionize the toilet with the PeePoo, a biodegradable bag that sanitizes human wastes to make fertilizer. The company hopes provide sanitation to millions of people living without running water in the developing world. |
