He is officially away from the campaign trail for a third day, but his trip to New Jersey gives him a chance to project leadership in the final days of a tight presidential race. 2. Mitt Romney is shifting back to campaign mode after taking a break for Sandy. During a stop in Tampa, Florida, he told supporters that he has a plan to deliver real change in Washington. He also encouraged the crowd to donate a dollar or two to storm victims along the East Coast.
3. Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the New York City marathon will go on as planned on Sunday. Marathon organizers were waiting for word from the city about whether holding the race would be safe, and viable.
4. In San Francisco, thousands are celebrating the Giants' World Series victory. Fans gathered early Wednesday to stake out prime spots to watch the ticker tape parade. |
