3. Republicans have maintained their control in the House, and Democrats have strengthened their hold on the Senate. That means President Barack Obama will face the same divided Congress in 2013 that has blocked his efforts from enacting major legislation.
4. While there were many reports of long voting lines, the turnout appears to have been significantly lower than four years ago when records were broken. With 95 percent of precincts reporting, the Associate Press shows a decrease about 15 million votes since the 2008 race. |
