What price can you put on time with the ones you love and those little craters according to one calculation: 2.3 billion pounds a day. So why are bank holidays a luxury we cannot afford.

        Is worth it?

        Moral motivation.

        Yeah, moral, I think motivation definitely.

        I think we need to enjoy ourselves in times of stories. We need to spend our disposed blink just we deserved it.

        Never the mind I supposed that we need to get people back into work. As well as I’m seeing when things about only even killed maybe we can get back on board. You know, I feel actually dies off.

        All the extra money spent on treats is good for some businesses.

        Then they can't afford eighty or ninety percent about, about trade for other year and along with weekends and the holidays.

        And if they were fewer?

        And if they were fewer, our business would never to be suffered.

        But the impact of closed factories and offices outweighs the benefits. The extra bank holiday for the royal wedding was blamed in part for growth of just 0.1% in the second quarter of last year. The bank's back in cue three was attributed to workers making up for lost time. But there's a warning that another extra bank holiday for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee will contribute to another economic slowdown.

        We should be prepared to spend a, to spread the bank causes a little bit more even over the year. We have Easter, a Mayday bank holiday and then a namely bank holiday. All coming very close together. I think Mayday bank holiday probably is necessary.

        It has we says that Britain has fewer bank holidays than most of our European neighbors but more than the United States.

        No one likes a killed joy. But researchers behind this report say that cancelling the eight bank holidays we enjoy most years would add 1.3% to economic growth that itself is five bigger than the 0.8% that the government expects the economy to grow this year.

        We take bank holidays for granted as many would say rightly so. But sometimes the best things are life are anything but free.
