2. The son of immigrants from the Dominican Republic is expected to be President Obama's pick for the next labor secretary. The White House says the president is set to nominate Thomas Perez, an assistant attorney general. 

 

3. Authorities say a private jet was having mechanical trouble before it crashed into a neighborhood in South Bend, Indiana Sunday. Two people on the plane were killed and two others were injured. One person on the ground was also hurt. 

 

4. And after an extended court case, Chinese-American engineer Hu Zhicheng is still living in limbo in China, free to go about his business in Shanghai but not allowed to return to his family in the US. Meanwhile in California, his family fears they will never see him again.
