  1. The surviving Boston Marathon bombing suspect has been charged with using a weapon of mass destruction to kill. It’s a crime that carries a possible death sentence. The charges represent a decision by the White House to try Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in the federal court system instead of as an enemy combatant in front of a military trial.
 
  2. Meantime, hundreds of family members and friends have mourned the death of Krystle Campbell. The 29-year-old restaurant manager was one of the 3 people killed in the bombings at the Boston Marathon. One person who attended the funeral says Campbell’s parents were too distraught to talk.
 
  3. Up and down, the east coast airports are reporting flight delays. This is the first weekday on which thousands of air traffic controllers are being forced to take an unpaid day off because of federal budget cuts.
 
  4. And tent villagers have sprung up in China’s Sichuan Province, two days after an earthquake killed at least 188 people. Many say the Chinese government has learned the importance of fast coordination since a quake 3 years ago killed 2,600 people.
