World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is one step closer to his second Wimbledon title. He's survived one of the longest semifinals at the All England Club to set up a final clash with Britain's No. 1 Andy Murray.
CRI's London correspondent Tu Yun has more.
It's the second time Novak Djokovic has reached the final at Wimbledon.
It took him four hours and forty-four minutes to edge 8th-seeded Argentine Juan Martin Del Potro in an epic semifinal battle.
The score, 7-5,4-6,7-6,6-7,6-3.
"It was one of the best matches that I've been part of. It was so close. That's why he's a grand slam champion. That's why he's right at the top because every time he's in a tough situation, he comes up with some unbelievable shots. I didn't think I played wrong when I was match points up and in tiebreak maybe I should step in and be more aggressive, but credit to him for fighting. I'm just very proud to go through."
Djokovic will take on Andy Murray in the final.
Britain's No.1 beat Poland's Jerzy Janowicz 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 under the closed roof of Center Court.
"A very tough match today. Completely different to any of the match I've played so far. He's very talented, very unpredictable. His huge serves there gave me very little rhythm. So today I was just delighted to come through and get another chance of playing a Wimbledon final."
The ultimate battle will take place on Sunday.
For CRI, I'm Tu Yun at Wimbledon. |
