Anti-military Rallies Held in Egypt(在线收听

Clashes have broken out in Egypt between supporters and opponents of ousted President Monhamed Morsi, killing at least 1 person and injured 25 others.

The violence came after thousands of Morsi supporters started fresh marches across the country protesting against military rule.

Nader Farag, one protester, says the military chief, General Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi and the interim president Adly Mansour should step down.

"I demand the military to leave, El-Sissi must leave as soon as possible and Adly Mansour also must leave he does not have a real role, all of them must leave. We want clean elections that bring a president who fixes the situation."

Meanwhile, Morsi's critics accused the Islamist president of trying to monopolize power and ignoring calls for reform.

The Friday rallies are the first since Brotherhood spiritual leader Mohammed Badie was arrested and accused of instigating violence.

Another 80 Muslim Brotherhood members, including senior leaders, were taken into custody on the eve of the rallies.

It also came a day after former President Hosni Mubarak was released from prison to house arrest in a military hospital, ratcheting up tensions in the country.

Nearly 1,000 people were killed in weeklong conflicts between Morsi's supporters and security forces since early August.

Pro-Morsi protestors have continued demonstrations for the free of the ousted President, despite the military forces announced a state curfew and vowed to disperse any mass gatherings or sit-ins.
