OK Go乐团成立于1998年秋天。乐团最开始是三位成员：吉他手Andrew Duncan、贝斯手Tim Nordwind与鼓手Dan Konopka。后来加入由华盛顿DC移居至芝加哥的主唱Damian Kulash。短短几个月的时间内，OK Go便在尚未有任何专辑问世的情况下得到传媒的高度瞩目。独立发表两首单曲后，OK Go于2001年四月签入主流大厂Capitol旗下，并在一年多后祭出这张团名处男大碟OK Go。
