 　　Connie always kept an umbrella in her desk drawer. A sunny morning could always turn into a rainy afternoon. Her "emergency" umbrella always kept her dry. One day it started raining at noon. She had to meet a client on the Upper East Side. She opened her desk drawer. She looked for her umbrella. It wasn't there. Did I leave it somewhere, she wondered. Then she remembered. She had lent it to Anne. She had lent it to Anne a week ago! Anne had borrowed it seven days ago. She was going to get her hair done. She said she would return it after she got her hair done. But she didn't. She went home after she got her hair done. The next day, Connie had asked Anne about the umbrella. Anne said, "Oh, I'm so sorry. It's at home. I'll bring it tomorrow." That was almost a week ago.
