洪都拉斯与尼日利亚建交 TEGUCIGALPA, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Foreign Ministry of Honduras on Wednesday announced that the country and Nigeria have established diplomatic relations.
"The joint statement through which the decision was established was signed by the foreign ministers of Honduras, Mireya Aguero, and of Nigeria, Viola Adaku Onwuliri," said the Honduran Foreign Ministry in a press release issued in the Honduran capital Tegucigalpa.
According to the press release, the signing ceremony was held on the sidelines of the 68th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) , which has attracted officials from all over the world to New York City, the United States.
In New York, the two foreign ministers exchanged information on their respective development priorities and on issues of shared interest, such as tourism, security and cooperation.
"Both republics decided to establish diplomatic relations according to the Vienna Convention and the United Nations Charter, to develop ties of friendship, generate initiatives in bilateral cooperation and contribute to the strengthening of world peace," the ministry said in the press release. |
