Security personnel deployed in the area also had difficulty in controlling the large crowds who gathered at the scene. Military helicopters had to patrol around the area to provide security. Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority Harold Demuren confirmed that none of the 153 passengers on board the aircraft survived.
