Back home doubt being voice not just about Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, but also President Obama after speech last night. 

He can not speak to the nation as a commander in chief. He can not speak to the world as a commander in chief. He just can not do it. And I don’t know what it is.

So Jim, what’s the latest from the White House on this proposal from Russia, what’s happening?

Well, Anderson, the White House is, first of all, not get any back and force with Senator C. But as you mentioned, the President is sort of gaining back to the ceremonial duties. You sometimes see whether a commander in chief was honoring the victims of the “9.11” attack that he would say volunteer went for the chronically or begging launches for those folks. But ask for this Russian proposal, first of all, the White House is not setting any kind of timeline as to when Syria is going to have to give up its chemical weapons something that were asked time again that they not giving a timeline at this point. Bur you really got the sense, Anderson, that the White House is setting expectations for this Russian proposal. They were saying at the press briefing earlier today that Russia is Assad’s best friend. And the Russians have been very cooperative in recent years. And this was also a punch way by White House pre-secretary J.C. when he said Russian prestige is on the line with this proposal. Here is what he has said.

 

Russia is Assad’s and Syria’s closest ally. Russia has played the role of blocking international’s efforts as far to hold Assad accountable. And the proposition that they put forward to deal with Assad’s chemical weapons presents a real opportunity if it would be successful. 

Now it is interesting to point out, Anderson ,that the end of news conference J.C called on a Russian reporter who said now wait a minute, this whole Russian proposal came from this constructive conversation that were going on between the President and

President Putin of Russia and J.C had to say, you know, what you get pointed there, Anderson.

The Secretary Kerry obviously is reset its heading to Geneva to meet his Russian counterpart. How optimistic is the administration that they will actually be able hatch out some sort of deal especially since the Assad himself *** apart. 

Well, you get the sense that they are cautiously optimistic about this. But at the same time as you are hearing the same thing you hear from J.C. Here is the White House you are hearing over the State Department spokesmen J.S. has said this briefing earlier this afternoon was reported. That what Secretary Kerry is doing over there in Geneva is testing the Syria’s negotiate put of the Russian’s proposal. So really there just that point in the game right now, looking at what’s going to be on paper at this point. Not alone what might be coming down the road and one point during the briefing J.S said that they are going to this meeting with the Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov with their eyes open. So a measure of optimism, Anderson, but also a whole lot caution. They are just not sure if this gonna work out and they are setting this expectation.
