There are signs that a possible solution in Washington, not over the governmentshutdown, we are talking about a proposal on the US debts ceiling. On Thursday,republicans in the US House of Representatives said they would propose raisingthe debts ceiling temporarily. Investors seemed happy about that. The Dow JonesIndustrial average took a big jump yesterday on an optimism about a possibledeal. But there are a few things to keep in mind. First, this is a proposal. Itwould have to be passed by both houses of Congress and signed by the president.Second, it's temporary, would run to November 22nd. And third it only coversthe debts ceiling. And if it's passed, the partial government shutdown couldkeep going. Republican leaders were scheduled to meet with president Obama atthe White House yesterday.
