CCTV9英语新闻11月:香港警告菲律宾采取行动,否则将面临制裁(在线收听) |
Hong Kong Chief Executive, Leung Chun-ying is warning the city would take necessary actions, unless the Philippines makes substantial progress within a month over the 2010 Manila hostage tragedy. Speaking ahead of a debate by lawmakers calling for sanctions on the Philippines, Leung has urged the Philippine government for a concrete and timely response. He wants Manila to apologize and compensate victims’ families for the tragedy. Hong Kong and the Philippines have close economic ties, and more than a-hundred-thousand Filipino domestic helpers work in the city. Tension continues over the incident in which eight Hong Kong tourists were killed by a dismissed policeman. He held a bus load of tourists hostage and opened fire on them after a botched police rescue.
