CCTV9英语新闻12月：《开罗宣言》发表70周年（在线收听）

Chinese ambassador to Egypt Song Aiguo has told a seminar marking the 70th anniversary of the Cairo Declaration that the seriousness and effectiveness of the Declaration is undisputed. Song Aiguo reviewed the history of the signing of the document at the hotel where it was signed.

At the event held by the Chinese embassy in Egypt. He refuted the Japanese right wing’s remarks that the Cairo Declaration has no legal binding force. Song said the Cairo declaration is an internationally recognised document and also a result of the joint efforts against the fascist axis.

He said the document, together with the Potsdam Declaration, are evidence for Taiwan to be restored to China after the war. He also said the documents are the legal basis to resolve the Diaoyu Islands dispute. He pointed out that China stands resolutely in safeguarding its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
