The satellite shows a trough over eastern Australia causing rain, showers and storms for northern NSW and Queensland. Cloud associated with ex-tropical cyclone Rusty is producing rain in southern WA. While thick cloud covers the tropics. Looking ahead around the states.
Now north and east Queensland will see rain and thunderstorms today with possible heavy falls. There will be isolated showers over western Queensland, and it will be cooler than usual in the south.
There will be rain areas over northeast NSW, heaviest along the coast, showers will fall along the rest of the state's coast and adjacent ranges.
Victoria will be fine apart from isolated showers over Gippsland, contracting to east Gippsland during the day.
