A committal hearing will begin today for the man charged with murdering Melbourne woman Jill Meagher. Adrian Bayley is accused of raping and murdering the ABC employee after she left a bar in September last year. The hearing is expected to last to two days.
 
A man is recovering in hospital after falling from a pedestrian bridge in Melbourne's CBD. The 25-year-old feel two meters onto a ledge above live powerlines and train tracks. It took almost an hour for rescuers to shut down the power, stop the trains and abseil down to rescue him.
