A low pressure trough is triggering showers in northern New South Wales and southeastern Queensland. A low in the Top End is producing heavy rain and storms, a weak trough in the west is causing a few showers. While moist onshore winds are bringing light showers to southern parts of the country.
 
Looking around the states.
 
In Queensland, showers and storms in the south, mostly sunny and warm in the north.
 
A mild day for New South Wales with a few showers in the far north, mostly sunny in the south of the state after a cool morning.
 
In Victoria, cool with isolated showers in the south, mostly sunny and mild in the north.
 
A few showers developing in Tasmania, mainly in the south and west of the state, dry and partly cloudy elsewhere.
 
South Australia rain and isolated storms in the central west, isolated showers on the coast.
 
Showers and storms in the far north of western Australia, sunny in the west.
 
Heavy showers and storms in the northern tip of the statel, mostly dry and very hot in the south of the state.
 
Looking ahead to tomorrow. And a late storm for Brisbane, a shower or two in Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart and Adelaide. But cloudy in Canberra. Sunny in Perth. And rain and storms in the Top End.
