A trough over northern WA is triggering showers and storms, while the high is keeping much of the southeast clear and dry. The high is directing moist onshore winds and isolated showers into eastern Queensland. And an approaching cold front is causing damaging wind gusts in Tasmania. Looking around the country.
In Queensland, it will be breezy on the east coast with isolated showers, warm in the west, with isolated storms in the north.
The NSW, a cool morning then mostly sunny and mild, warming up in the west and south.
A mild morning for Victoria with some fog patchies then a mostly sunny day, warm and northwesterly winds increasing.
For Tasmania, rain heaviest in the west later but mostly dry in the east, with strengthening northwesterly winds.
In SA, mostly sunny with warm northerlies increasing, later isolated showers in the south.
WA can expect a hot day with thundery showers in the north and southeast, cooler in the southwest with light showers.
And for the NT, isolated showers and storms in the far north, mainly to the east, mostly sunny elsewhere, hot in the north and warm in the south.
Looking ahead to tomorrow, here's forecast for the capitals. mostly sunny in Brisbane and Canberra. Sunny in Sydney, clearing showers in Melbourne and Hobart. A chance of a shower or two in Adelaide. A cloudy day for Perth and mostly sunny for Darwin. |
