 When markets in Europe closed a couple of hours ago, London's FTSE was up around 1%. And theDax in Germany,also doing very well at the end of the trading week, up 161points. And across the Atlantic, in the US, also finishing very positively. TheDow up 142 points.

 
And in currencies, the Aussie dollar is worth 103 US cents, 66pence and a dollar twenty Kiwi cents.
 
When employment has received a boost in the US with 165,000 new jobs created inApril. That's according to the latest US non-farm payrolls. It's upfrom the economists' predictions of around 145,000 jobs and these figuresmean the unemployment rate is now at its lowest level in four yearsat 7.5%.
 
The European Union's latest economic forecast predicts the European recessionwill be worse than expected with unemployment remaining at recordlevels. The EU's economic and Monetary Affairs commissioner saysthe GDP in the 17 EU countries that use the Euro will shrink by 0.4% thisyear and unemployment across the Euro Zone is expected to hit anaverage of 12.2% this year.
