Strong, cold fronts are moving over Tasmania and Bass Strait, bringing snow to low-lying areas. A westerly airstream is dumping showers on inland parts of South Australia, southern Victoria and the southern ranges of New South Wales. In Queensland, fine and mostly sunny conditions over most of the state. Isolated thunderstorms developing through the Torres Strait tonight.
To New South Wales. Isolated showers on the far southern ranges with snow showers above 1,200 metres. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
Scattered showers and possible hail near the Victorian coast. Isolated thunderstorms in the west.
Down to Tasmania. Showers easing during the evening. Isolated thunderstorms and possible hail above the south and west.
Isolated showers over inland South Australia. Light, very warm winds in the north.
Over Western Australia, isolated showers on the South Coast. Areas of morning frost inland.
And in the Northern Territory, mostly sunny apart from areas of cloud over the Top End.
