Kevin Rudd ismaking a final push to convince Queensland to sign up to Labor's school funding reforms. He will meet Queensland Premier Campbell Newman later today. The prime minster has given States and Territory until Sunday to sign up to the bill.

 

Roads have been reopened around Port Botany in Sydney after a fuel spill at an oil terminal. About 130,000 litres' of unleaded fuel has spilled from a storage tank at Caltex terminal in Banksmeadow near PortBotany. The fuel has now been contained.

 

Some of the 911 calls made by passengers in the moments  after a fatal plane crash in San Francisco Airport have been released. They reveal some survivors of the Asiana flight were concerned ambulances were taking too long to respond.

 

And Pope Francishas strengthened the Vatican's law against child abuse. The changes will broad the definition of crimes against minors, including child prostitution, sexual acts with children and child pornography. The reforms apply to those working in the Vatican, evenif the offenses were committed outside its borders. They'll come to force in September.
