2. Police in Brazil said they have detained around 90 people in Sao Paulo after violent demonstrations over the police killing of a 17-year-old. At least 5 commuter buses and 3 trucks were torched late Monday. Police say the shooting of the youth who was in custody was accidental.

 

3. The mother of Trayvon Martin told a Senate Panel that Stand Your Ground laws don¡¯t work and must be amended during a hearing on the politically-charged issue. Republicans led by Senator Ted Cruz of Texas said the matter should left up to the states who passed the laws.
