Princeton University officials have decided to give students a meningitis vaccine that hasn’t been approved in the US to stop the spread of the disease. The Food and Drug Administration approved the import of Bexsero last week. The vaccine is approved in Europe and Australia.
3. Toronto City Council passes a motion to strip Mayor Rob Ford of most of his remaining power. Ford will now be mayor in name only. Ford refused to step down after admitting to smoking crack cocaine, and his repeated outbursts since recent weeks.
4. NASA’s newest robotic explorer Maven is on its way to Mars. The Maven spacecraft blasted off Cape Canaveral on Monday and will take ten months to reach Mars. |
