Three other people connected to the school face charges of failing to report abuse and investigation interference. A grand jury has been investigating whether other laws were broken in the rape of the 16-year-old girl last year. 2. Protestors in Kiev scuffled with riot police over the government’s abrupt decision to pause integration with the EU in favour of closer ties to the Russia. Monday’s rally follows mass demonstrations on Sunday, the largest seen since the Orange Revolution in 2004 brought a pro-western government to power.
3. Syria’s government and opposition will meet for the 1st time in an attempt to halt the nearly 3 years ago civil war that has killed more than 100,000 people. The conference is set for January 22.
4. And finalists for “toy of the year” have been announced. Zoomer, the robot dog, Hugging Elmo and a Disney doll that talks to animals are among the contenders for the coveted title. The winner will be announced in February. |
