Mining billionaire Andrew Forrest says he hopes his record-breaking donation will encourage stronger culture of philanthropy. Mr.Forrest is giving 65 million dollars for scholarships and a new residential college at the University of Western Australia. It’s the single largest cash donation in Australian history.
A grieving father has warned about the dangers of buying drugs online. Stephen Munro’s son James died of an ecstasy overdose at a dance party in Sydney last month. The 23-year-old bought the drug from the website Silk Road. The FBI shut down the website last week.
A second man will face court today, charged over a shooting death at a Sydney fruit market. Police arrested a 27-year-old man at Villawood in the city’s west last night. A fruit shop worker died after being shot during a robbery on Saturday. |
