 Let’s take a look at the satellite. Ex-tropical cyclone Alicia is generating heavy showers and storms near the gulf of carbon interior. A trough is triggering areas of thundery rain in Queensland and northern New South Wales. A cold front is bringing a cool gusty change with showers and storms to southern WA. 

 
Looking around the country, in Queensland, patchy showers and storms stretching from the northwest to the southeast interior will contract north during the day. Southern / can expect a strong southerly wind change by evening. 
 
In New South Wales, morning showers for the central coast and easing rain and in the northeast. Late drizzle for the south coast.
 
Victoria can expect early light showers and drizzle in the south to clear to a sunny afternoon.
 
A cool day in Tasmania with isolated showers in the west and south, clearing during the morning.
 
Fine in South Australia, apart from the odd shower and possible afternoon storm in the far west. A cooler southerly change will develop later tonight. 
 
Western Australia can expect showers and windy conditions through much of the south as well as parts of Kimberley. 
 
In the territory, rain areas for eastern parts of the Top End could lead to significant stream risers through / of McCarthy area. Mostly fine elsewhere.
 
Looking ahead to tomorrow’s forecast for the capital cities, a morning shower in Brisbane, fine in the southeastern capitals, a possible shower in Adelaide and Perth. Darwin can see afternoon storm.
