China's Ambassador to the United Nations Liu Jieyi spoke at the Security Council about Shinzo Abe's visit to the controversial Yasukuni Shrine. He said the visit is an affront to international justice and the UN Charter. He urged the international community to adhere to post world-war two principles.

"We can see clearly that an act....blatant affront to the international justice, blatant affront to the human conscience, blatant affront to the post 2nd WW order...It is the duty of the international community...take the country down a very dangerous path." Liu said.
